"Sensory Integration & Processing in the Schools"

The Occupational Therapy Collaborative of Sensory Integration in the Schools is an initiative to explore the best practices of occupational therapy services and sensory integration within educational settings.

Grounded in the principles of Ayres Sensory Integration®, the collaborative works to align sensory strategies and intervention with school-based frameworks such as Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and 504 Plans. The focus is on building knowledge and confidence among school-based occupational therapists to improve student participation and foster environments that support regulation, attention, engagement, and learning.

This collaborative is facilitated by Kareen Robbins, an AOTA Approved Provider.  She is an OTR who is formally trained in sensory integration (SIPT Certification) with over 36 years of experience applying Ayres SI® in the school setting.

This is not an AOTA-approved course.  It does apply to NBCOT license renewal and many state license renewals. If you are unsure if you can use these contact hours towards license renewal, please email kareenrobbinsot@gmail.com

Facilitator: Kareen Robbins MS, OTR/L, SIPT

Cost: $120 (6 contact hours or 3 PDUs)

An interactive document will be provided through the learning platform before each session to submit questions. Questions can also be emailed to kareenrobbinsot@gmail.com and asked during the sessions. The question-and-answer format will promote learning and discussion of the implementation of Ayres SI® principles in the school setting.

Please note: No refunds are available once the collaborative begins. If you cannot attend a session or complete the collaborative, you will be able to access a document with all the questions, answers, and guidance for that session.

Group Rate: When registering 5 or more participants, use code: Group15 for 15% off the total cost.

Purchase orders are accepted. Please click on the link below, complete the form, and you will be invoiced accordingly. Ensure all participants' email addresses are correct for accurate registration by Kareen's team.

Learning Goals are directly aligned with the strengths and needs of the participants. Areas that may be discussed but are not inclusive to discussions are:
