Integrating Ayres SI® Principals into the MTSS Framework

Integrating Ayres SI® principles into the MTSS Framework will provide knowledge, understanding, and application of sensory integration theory, with an emphasis on the Ayres SI® frame of reference to support all children in the Multitiered System of Supports framework.  

 

 This course is appropriate for school-based occupational therapists working with children in the school setting.

Instructor: Kareen Robbins MS OTR/L, SIPT

1. Participants will identify Ayres SI® principles of sensory integration 

2. Participants will describe the Multitiered System of Support Framework and the 3 tiers of intervention.

3. Participants will identify Ayres SI® interventions and sensory-based strategies within Tier 1, 2, and 3 of the MTSS framework. 

4. Participants will identify areas of professional growth with sensory integration with the MTSS framework, using a self-reflection tool.

5. Participants will define a professional goal(s) to implement sensory integration into the MTSS framework.

All courses are presented with the instructional methods, lecture, collaborative group learning, and case studies while incorporating kinesthetic, visual, and auditory learning styles. The delivery format is Distance Learning through the Zoom Platform and delivered in both interactive and independent formats. 

Continuing education credit (certificate) is awarded with completion of all activities within the learning activity,  attendance, a 70% passing grade for learning assessments, and completion of the course evaluation.
